We are looking for an Associate level lawyer with between 3-7 years'
post qualification experience to join our Singapore office. You will
be experienced in aviation regulatory, insurance matters and claims
acting on behalf of major insurance companies and airlines.
This opportunity involves working directly for Partner Terence
Liew, consistently ranked across various legal directories
including the Legal 500, Doyles Guide, Singapore Business Review and
Chambers Asia Pacific for his expertise. Terence has extensive
experience in multi-jurisdictional, high value aviation insurance
matters and claims, acting on behalf of global major insurance
companies, airlines, GA operators, leasing companies and airports and
airport service providers. In addition to the litigious side, in this
role you will also assist the Partner in advising clients on complex
insurance coverage and regulatory matters.
The team advises clients based in Asia and also those in the London
and European markets. You will be exposed to a varied practice, and
the nature and size of the team will mean that you will be heavily
involved in all aspects of matters allowing you the autonomy and
development opportunity to drive and make a significant contribution
to the matter outcome.
Key responsibilities
Advising clients on policy coverage issues and quantum across
various types of insurance, from mid-size losses to large and
complex claims.
Advising and representing airlines in matters arising from major accidents.
Drafting and reviewing policy wording and providing advice on
areas of legal risk for clients.
Advising on regulatory and dispute resolution matters.
Assisting the Partner in managing and building client
relationships, including assisting with business development
activities for key existing clients and new clients.
Collaboration and mentoring to work with the wider team across
Singapore and Hong Kong.
Candidate Profile
You will be an established Associate level lawyer with a solid
litigation background ideally gained within a top tier private
practice law firm environment. In addition, the successful candidate
will ideally have:
3-7 years post qualification experience in Singapore acting for
and advising clients.
Must be admitted to the Singapore Bar.
Strong general litigation background with deep understanding of
insurance, regulatory, or aviation liability matters and claims is a requirement.
Strong drafting skills and excellent attention to detail.
Experience working with reputable or international law firms is preferred.
A genuine desire to build on and expand your skillset within a
global law firm context.
Strong academics, with excellent verbal and written communication
and time management skills, and the ability to manage competing
priorities effectively.
A self-driven, can-do attitude and approach, and enthusiasm to
contribute to and foster a positive team atmosphere.
