The Role
We are currently recruiting for a legal assistant who specializes in
litigation to join our Vancouver team. They will provide direct
support to a team of three lawyers. The ideal candidate will have a
minimum of three years of litigation experience. This is a full-time,
non-exempt position. Work schedule to be 5 days a week in office. The
salary range for this position is $55,000 - $70,000.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation and production of a variety of legal documents, with
accuracy, in the area of litigation.
Attending to file openings, preparation, and management.
Preparation of daily correspondence.
Entering time and working with the billing department, as required.
Performing online searches and filings through BC Online/BC Registries.
Proofreading of typed material for grammatical, typographical, or
spelling errors.
Maintaining an efficient bring forward/follow-up system.
Carrying out other general administrative tasks as required by the firm.
Essential Skills & Experience
Legal Assistant Certification from an accredited institution or
the equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years' experience as a legal assistant in the area of
litigation with knowledge and understanding of the B.C. Supreme
Court Rules.
Solid understanding of law office procedures.
Strong computer skills in the area of Microsoft Suite.
iManage, 3E experience would be an asset.
Rigor and attention to detail.
Great organization and prioritization skills.
Handling and prioritizing workload while working under pressure of
tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Behaving in a professional manner with lawyers, clients, and other
team members at all levels.
Team-spirit, strong sense of collaboration and positive,
"can-do" attitude.
