About the role

This national business development role is focused on proactively and collaboratively driving business development across sectors as part of a close-knit pan-regional business development and marketing team.

The role is expected to work seamlessly, collaboratively and closely with national and regional peer-group BD team members and will similarly work closely with partners, senior associates and functional managers. Internationally the role is expected to forge solid relationships with sector and regional peers.

Key Skills & Experience

Responsible for delivering marketing and business development services to the firm. In particular:

Business development

  • Supporting the team in the implementation of sector and practice business plans.
  • Working with the team to prepare proposals and capability statements for the MEA region and working with global BD team on multi-office opportunities.
  • Assisting with client relationship management programmes, including collation and analysis of client feedback.
  • Providing ad hoc support to revenue generating initiatives such as client and market research.
  • Identifying projects to improve efficiency within the team.
  • Proactively maintaining and improving team precedents and processes.

Marketing and communications

  • Working with the team to create client mailings via vuture, managing distribution and reporting on engagement statistics.
  • Contributing to the legal directory process, including managing submissions, interviews, and reporting back to the business.
  • Managing the logistics of webinars and podcasts via the firm's chosen platforms.
  • Coordinating and communicating the internal marketing diary on weekly basis.
  • Managing the production of brochures and key marketing materials.
  • Creating and maintaining content on the firm's website.
  • Maintaining team resources such as experience and CV databases.

Event management

  • Working with the team to manage client events from start to finish.
  • Reporting and analysis of the ROI of events.
  • Attending events and providing 'on site' management.
  • Managing event lists including coordinating the invitation list to ensure a high-quality of attendees.
  • Liaising with key vendors to arrange necessary logistics.
  • Arranging conference sponsorships.

CRM

  • Championing the use of the firm's CRM database and providing training and support to users.
  • Producing reports on CRM activities to support and measure BD & Marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Overseeing the quality of the data within the CRM database.
  • Managing system improvements and the roll out of new functionality.

It is expected that the Business Development Executive:

  • Effectively advocate the aims of the firm's business development agenda, assisting partners, lawyers and team members in maintaining an awareness of these aims and guiding their implementation.
  • Contribute to the continuing development of business development tools that support the implementation of our plans.
  • Be a collegiate and supportive member of the regional and international business development teams, playing a pivotal role ensuring information is shared.
  • Maintain an overview of the developments taking place within the firm, with clients and the external market and communicate those developments to partners, lawyers and other team members .
  • Exemplify the attributes that we wish to communicate to the market, including exemplary client service.
