The Team

We are seeking a passionate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Manager to lead and drive our DEI initiatives in North America, covering the United States and Canada. The successful candidate will work closely with the Global Head of DEI and the broader DEI team based in London. While this role does not include direct reports, you will have the support and collaboration of a broader DEI team, primarily based in London. This role sits within the Global DEI team with a matrix responsibility into the wider North America HR team.

The HR team in the North America consists of 20 people. We have specialist teams in Recruitment, Early Careers, Learning and Development, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Reward and Engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Management - Build and maintain strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders across the Partnership, legal, and business services, acting as a trusted advisor and advocate for DEI initiatives within the region.
  • Strategic and Delivery Focus - Develop and implement a robust DEI strategy for North America that aligns with the global DEI strategy. Balance strategic planning with hands-on execution to achieve impactful results.
  • Global and Local Balance - Harmonize the global DEI strategy with local priorities and cultural nuances. Ensure that regional initiatives are aligned with overall global objectives while addressing specific local needs.
  • Compliance and Benchmarking - Develop a strong understanding of external compliance reporting requirements, benchmarks, and industry networks. Ensure that the firm meets all relevant DEI compliance standards and leverages industry best practices.
  • Building Infrastructure - Work with the North America DEI Steering Committee and various Employee Resource Groups across the region to drive key priorities forward.
  • Drive Engagement - Deploy impactful communications, events and training in order to drive engagement across the region, leading to a positive experience of inclusive culture.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Clear passion for DEI with examples of demonstrable impact through programmes and initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
  • Ability to develop and execute DEI strategies.
  • Knowledge of North American DEI compliance reporting and benchmarks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a global team.
  • Experience in a legal or professional services environment is advantageous.
