The Role

The IDAM Engineer will be responsible for taking a leading role in securing and optimizing our Active Directory environment. As the backbone of our organization's identity and access control (IDAM) system, this role will ensure the right people have the right access to the right resources, all while adhering to strict security protocols.

This role involves a blend of technical expertise and strategic thinking. It will manage day-to-day tasks like processing user account requests, maintaining user groups and permissions, and configuring Active Directory settings. This role will also play a key part in facilitating seamless integrations with our enterprise platform products. Staying up to date on evolving IDAM best practices and Active Directory features will be crucial for designing and implementing efficient access control solutions. Ultimately, the contributions of this role will be essential for maintaining and enhancing the overall health and security of our entire IDAM program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage Active Directory infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security.
  • Automate Active Directory tasks for user provisioning, deprovisioning, access requests, and role management.
  • Integrate Active Directory with enterprise platform products (e.g., CRM, ERP) and collaborations tools to streamline user access and permissions.
  • Monitor Active Directory health and performance, identify and troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to maintain a secure environment.
  • In coordination with IT Security and Platform Operations teams, Develop and implement security best practices for Active Directory, including password policies, group management, and access controls.
  • Collaborate with IT security and application teams to ensure IDAM policies are aligned with business needs.
  • Stay up to date on the latest IDAM technologies and trends, particularly those related to Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Document IDAM processes and procedures for future reference and training purposes.
  • Assist with security incident response and investigation where required.
  • Assist with major incidents response and resolution where required.
  • Assist with office move technology logistics.
  • Assist with project delivery.
  • Ad-hoc tasks assigned by Manager.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Active Directory administration with strong understanding or Active Directory concepts (ADFS, Group Policy, Replication), and functional knowledge of scripting, PowerShell, and Enterprise Platform integrations.
  • Deep and/or specialized knowledge of inner workings of supported solutions.
  • Able to troubleshoot and identify workarounds or solutions to new problems.
  • Work Execution: Works mostly independently with minimal supervision. Determines own approach to assigned tasks of moderate complexity. Suggests and implements improvements to customer service processes.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, including use of positive language, active listening, ensuring complete understanding. Initiative to make customers' experiences better. Positivity to maintain a cheery persona and be a calming presence in face of upset or angry customers. Adaptable and able to handle surprises.
  • Solution Knowledge & Problem Identification: Deep and/or specialized knowledge of inner workings of supported solutions. Able to trouble-shoot and identify workarounds or solutions to new problems.
  • Documentation & Training: Able to create documentation for new processes and workarounds. Able to train and advise other team members on how to solve issues.
  • Task Control & Escalation: Acts as escalation point for issues and provides guidance to others on team when required.
