Clyde & Co has an opportunity in Denver, CO for an insurance coverage litigation attorney with 5 - 8 years of experience. We are looking for a bright attorney and an excellent writer who is highly motivated and proactive with their caseload—someone who will be able to act independently and comfortable taking on a leadership role with their cases, with experience and an interest in working on complex insurance coverage litigation matters.

Our Denver practice represents and advises insurers in coverage matters involving both property and liability insurance, including CGL, professional liability, inland marine construction defects, and directors' and officers' liability. The firm represents insurers in coverage and bad faith litigation in federal and state courts throughout the Southwest.

Responsibilities

  • Develop litigation strategy for insurance coverage litigation business disputes and class-actions;
  • Conduct complex and rigorous legal research and analysis, and draft memoranda;
  • Analyze insurance policies and claims, draft analyses of coverage issues and provide coverage advice and recommendations for clients;
  • Take and defend depositions;
  • Draft motions, pleadings, memos, briefs, discovery requests, interrogatories, and other legal correspondence and litigation documents;
  • Attend court hearings and mediations;
  • Work on all aspects of pretrial to trial;
  • Manage and supervise associates and paralegals.

Education and Experience Required

  • Admitted to practice in Colorado. Additional admission(s) is a plus.
  • 5 - 8 years of insurance coverage litigation experience, particularly with both property and liability coverages;
  • State and federal court experience;
  • Excellent academic credentials;
  • Solid work history.

The salary range for this position is $170,000 - $190,000 for an Associate and $185,000 - $200,000 for a Senior Associate. The range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
