Description

We are looking for a casual Knowledge Paralegal with a minimum availability of 3 days. This is a great opportunity for a law student to gain invaluable experience working in our Knowledge team whilst studying their degree.

This role provides research support to lawyers to assist the Knowledge Management team with:

  • Conducting legal information research for key clients
  • Researching various insurance, construction, trade and transport and corporate topics via legal and other databases
  • Preparing well-constructed written material based on results from research information
  • Current legal awareness including a curated weekly newsletter
  • Other ad hoc research projects and reporting writing.
  • Keeping the Knowledge intranet site on SharePoint up to date
  • Maintaining the Library Catalogue by adding new resources
  • Creating and maintaining media alerts on the Manzama platform
  • Organising Learning & Development sessions, updating the L&D database, creating invitations and managing attendance.
  • Updating internal litigation trackers and creating client-facing versions of the captured data

Working in close collaboration with local Knowledge Management teams, and with partners and lawyers to produce high quality technical content.

Essential skills and experience

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Law or eligible to be admitted.
  • Excellent legal database and other online researching skills with high attention to detail.
  • Solid experience across a wide range of research activities within a similar role.
  • Highly Competent with various IT applications, MSOffice including PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
  • Experience with HighQ Collaborate an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to contribute and further build the Knowledge function for the partners and lawyers and global counterparts.
  • Excellent written skills including previous experience in producing legal content for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly organised with ability to prioritise workloads to meet conflicting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, initiative and organisational skills.
  • Ability to be pro-active in identifying areas where improvements can be made in relation to work processes.
  • The ability to assimilate detail quickly whilst retaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent prioritisation skills to manage multiple deliverables within a tight timeframe and deliver high quality work.
  • Proven experience to initiate and drive projects forward
  • Ability to be self-motivated and operate autonomously, as well as collaborate in an experienced small team of professionals.
  • High level of confidentiality at all times.
