We are seeking an Associate qualified to represent
clients in Saudi courts, to join our dispute resolution practice in Riyadh to
work on a range of complex matters for clients across diverse
industries, both within region and cross border.
Our expert dispute resolution practice is at the heart
of the firm. By harnessing the firm's deep sector knowledge, we have
developed a substantial and successful global disputes practice that
is renowned for its strategic approach and resolute commercial
focus. The group has an unrivalled reputation for working in
emerging markets and, alongside the firm, continues to move into new
and expanding markets.
We seek to resolve disputes by the most effective
means, whether through negotiation, litigation, arbitration or
mediation, balancing a proportionate response and the achievement of
an optimal result. Supported by our ability to deploy
well-structured and sizeable teams, when and where required, we
guide our clients carefully through the disputes process, whatever
their chosen route.
About You
You will have an excellent
litigation background gained from another highly respected private
practice or a mixture of private practice and in-house from within
the GCC region, or from overseas, with the following core competencies:
An excellent background in high
value, complex commercial litigation and arbitration
Proven track record of experience in the judicial
system in Saudi Arabia
Strong academic credentials,
self-driven with excellent verbal and written communications skills
Qualified in England & Wales or any other common
law jurisdiction.
Regional experience is preferred.
At least 5 years of post-qualification experience or equivalent
Arabic desirable but not essential
A strong academic background, training and experience
gained with either a well-recognised international or regional top
tier firm
Strong time management skills and ability to manage
competing priorities effectively demonstrated teamwork and
collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work independently
commercial awareness and confidence in building a
rapport with clients to gain a better understanding of their
business' needs and with the assistance of the partners, actively
developing these client relationships
the ability to lead, delegate and foster a positive
team atmosphere.
Description of the work group
Our Middle East regional office has developed a
"market-leading reputation" for dispute resolution. We handle
disputes in the Middle East, Gulf States, Indian subcontinent and
beyond and are "first choice" for multi-jurisdictional matters. Our
regional commercial arbitration practice is equally strong.
We pride ourselves on resolving disputes where possible
without recourse to court or arbitration and continue to look for
opportunities to settle even when proceedings have been commenced.
When litigation or arbitration is necessary, we can conduct
proceedings both locally and internationally drawing in the
expertise of Clyde & Co's global network of offices.
