The Role

Our corporate insurance / corporate team in Dubai is seeing a corporate / M&A Senior Associate. You will work mainly with partner Dr Roshanak Bassiri Gharb, a high respected partner that is earmarked as a "Next Generation Partner" by Legal500 and has recently been shortlisted within the championing diversity category of the Middle East Legal Awards 2023.

She advises clients across a range of industries, including healthcare, insurance and reinsurance, logistics, FMBG etc on a range of complex corporate, M&A transactions. She is also focused on corporate advisory and corporate governance matters. She is also in charge for the set-up of investment funds, and she assists VC investors in different stages of investments in high profile start-ups.

The nature and size of the team will mean that you will be heavily involved in all aspects of matters. Further, you will be encouraged to foster and generate client relationships and will have the opportunity to engage in business development frequently.

Key Responsibilities

We're looking for a Mid to Senior Associate who enjoys working as part of a dynamic and collaborative team with the following experience:

  • Strong corporate / M&A experience gained from private practice or a mixture of private practice and in house, is essential
  • Regional Middle East experience is highly preferred, as is experience working with clients in the insurance/regulatory and healthcare industry.
  • Commitment, discipline, accountability and performance/growth-oriented approach are a must.
  • Strong academic credentials, self-driven with excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work independently.
  • Friendly and people-focused attitude are well regarded
  • Commercial awareness and confidence in building a rapport with clients to gain a better understanding of their business' needs and with the assistance of the partner, actively developing these client relationships.
  • Bi-lingual English and Arabic is preferred.
