Pricing Analyst - North America

Clyde & Co seeks an experienced Pricing Analyst to be located in one of the firm's US offices. This is a newly created role that is will directly support other members of the Pricing Team to help partners of the firm drive profitability of their individual practices.

The Pricing Analyst will report to the Global Pricing Lead. Other key contacts will be the Business Development team, and members of various strategic client focused groups. The individual will also work closely with and draw upon existing resources within the Rates and Intake and Financial Reporting Teams.

The Pricing Analyst will be heavily involved in the generation of creative fee proposals, completion of RFPs and profitability analyses for current and prospective clients of the Firm. The Analyst will be tasked with addressing the complex and changing legal industry, including client requests for alternative fee arrangements other than standard hourly rates. The Analyst is expected to contribute across all aspects of the pricing process, including data gathering, developing and documenting assumptions, modeling, quality assurance, and delivery. A strong candidate will be highly analytical, extremely detail oriented, and have experience with legal pricing and financial modeling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Global Pricing Team on all pricing requests, particularly within North America and the United Kingdom.
  • Monitor and manage rate cards across the region, driving uniformity whenever achievable.
  • Implement tools and standardize the processes to review and approve pricing opportunities and streamline the flow of data necessary for decision making.
  • Track existing fee arrangement expirations and be prepared to update the Pricing Team on coordinating the renewal process.
  • Analyze client financial performance data to identify client specific opportunities for increased returns.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with colleagues in other regions regarding global fee agreements renewal and renegotiation.
  • Facilitate internal communications and information delivery to key decision-makers.
  • Work closely with the local business development team on various client initiatives and help develop responses to client RFP submissions.
  • Audit compliance with existing fee agreements and alert of any missed opportunities.
  • Create graphs, charts and other visualizations to explain data and demonstrate trends.

Skills & Experience Required

  • BA/BS degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Operations, or other relevant field.
  • Graduate degree, MBA or JD a plus but not required.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pricing, revenue management, legal service delivery, strategy, or financial reporting and analysis.
  • Sophisticated use of Excel (vertical lookups, macros, pivot tables, modeling, etc.).
  • Law firm or Partnership experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting systems, Elite 3E preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and modeling skills.
  • Confidence and high level of proactive behavior.
  • Resilience when facing ambiguity or resistance.
  • Ability to operate independently.
