Senior Litigation Executive - Disease Team - Liverpool

We are looking a Senior Litigation Executive to join our Disease Team to be based in the Liverpool office.

The Role

The defence of all types of disease claims is one of Clyde & Co's specialist areas. This role involves handling a mixture of claims including EL and PL disease claims on behalf of a variety of clients including insurers, reinsurers, TPAs, local authorities and corporates.

Ideally, we are interested in experienced Senior Litigation Executive that have experience in managing a caseload of Disease related injury claims in court, through to trial. Disease experience is ideal, but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • You will be a highly determined and well-organised individual able to adapt well within a demanding, fast-paced litigation team.
  • Previous experience within personal injury or other areas of civil litigation (Defendant or Claimant), ideally with a Disease/large loss injury background.
  • You will enjoy being challenged by complex legal issues and expanding your knowledge.
  • You will be focussed on delivering a highly professional service to clients, including compliance with client SLAs and MI requirements.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will take responsibility for:

  • Managing a caseload of litigated disease liability claims.
  • Working with all members of our large and highly experience disease team. You will be exposed to a variety of work, but predominantly acting on behalf of a range insurers, reinsurers, local and national government authorities, and corporates.
  • Carrying out investigations, taking witness statements, reviewing and interpreting medical records and medical reports.
  • Identifying information requirements and securing required documentation/evidence from third parties.
  • Adhering to reporting and reserving requirements in relation to different client SLAs.
  • File Management - including initial reports, updating reports and correspondence.
  • Supporting the Partners in servicing existing clients, growing new business and maintaining relationships with clients using technical excellence and innovation.
