The Team

Our global corporate and advisory group supports a broad range of clients on all their legal requirements, from corporate, banking & finance, commercial, employment, IPto IT/Tech.

Our Legal500 Tier 2 ranked corporate and commercial team works cohesively with clients across the firm's key sectors in both mature and emerging markets around the world, assisting with private M&A transactions, joint ventures and corporate governance arrangements.

The Role

This role offers the successful candidate a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic corporate team. You will be working directly with clients, supporting the partners with a variety of matters across their multifaceted client group.

The core location of the role is Guildford but travel to our London office will be required from time to time.

Your Responsibilities:

Supporting M&A transactions including preparation of ancillary documents, due diligence and other deliverables required for multi-jurisdictional transactions;

assisting with the process, co-ordination and project management of transactions; and developing strong working relationships with colleagues in different sectors and offices

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 1 - 3 PQE with previous experience working within a corporate and commercial team. Please note that our PQE levels are a guide and all suitable candidates will be considered.
  • The Solicitors Act 1974 requires practicing solicitors to have a practising certificate.
  • Must be a qualified solicitor. Successful completion of a Training Contract (or equivalent) and relevant education (Legal Practice Course; Graduate Diploma in Law (if non Law graduate).
  • All solicitors and registered European lawyers in legal practice or employment in England & Wales must comply with the requirements of the Solicitors Regulation Authority's continuing professional development scheme (CPD Scheme).
  • The ideal candidate will display excellent legal ability and initiative, strong technical skills as well as confidence in managing and prioritising a full and varied workload. They will be a strong communicator with good attention to detail.
  • Be proactive and have a good teamwork ethic, with a willingness to assume responsibility.
