Legal technology (in particular eDiscovery, hearing
support and deal room software) provides our lawyers with a
competitive edge in the data driven world we live in. Clyde &
Co's LegalTech Services team (the Team) helps the
firm's lawyers leverage technology to work collaboratively and
efficiently, for example by helping our lawyers swiftly identify the
facts and key issues in their matters from numerous
documents/emails/etc made available as part of legal disclosure
exercises. The Team uses several sophisticated software solutions to
assist our lawyers with their legal review, disclosure and hearing
preparation processes. If you are a motivated and problem-solving

Our normal hours of work are 9:00 to 17:30 but it may
be necessary to work additional hours, including weekends, on an
ad-hoc basis, to ensure we fully meet our clients' needs and
objectives.
Overview
The Senior Specialist is an experienced technical
project manager with an extensive and proven track record in
enabling data and document review, disclosure and presentation using
eDiscovery, data room and hearing support software. The Senior
Specialist reports to the Global Manager, LegalTech Services and is
a senior representative of the Team for our legal teams and clients
in the UK & Europe region.
Key Responsibilities
Matter Management & Time Recording
Working with the legal team, client, vendor and any
third party on disputes and corporate matters, particularly
matters with unique and/or complex technical requirements, either
independently or together with another Team member. For example,
managing the ingestion and processing of data / documents,
managing processing workflows including for Early Case Assessment
purposes, running searches, batching documents, advising on
document review strategies including using Continuous Active
Learning and analytics to accelerate document reviews, creating
productions, assisting with hearing presentation needs, setting up
data rooms for due diligence purposes, assisting users with
uploading documents to data rooms, administering data room user
accounts, etc
Consulting with the legal team and/or client to
accurately scope matters and estimate the cost at the outset, and
managing their expectations on a regular, and if necessary
frequent, basis going forward in relation to the scope, costs and
delivery of the Team's and/or vendor services
Reviewing and quality checking (including for
accuracy, typographical and grammatical errors) the Team's work on
the matter, and seeking the Manager's review and approval of that
work if necessary, before any work is delivered to the legal team
and/or client
Advising the legal team and/or client on the relevant
technical best practices for the matter
Providing, and/or arranging vendors to provide,
training for our legal teams and/or clients on the use of relevant
software for your matters if such training is requested or is necessary
Efficiently and accurately recording with clear and
sufficient detail all of your time spent on: billable matters to
enable your work to be charged to clients promptly; and
non-billable work
Evaluating vendor invoices on your matters, working
with the Team to ensure those invoices are coded in the firm's
financial systems to the relevant matters and passed through to
the relevant client(s) for payment, and monitoring the firm's
payments to the relevant vendors with respect to those invoices
Risk Management & Quality
Control and Process & Product Standardisation
Working with the Manager to: identify risks arising as a result of or in
connection with LegalTech Services work (for example, data
security, data quality and reputational risks); develop plans to
remediate or mitigate those risks; and implement those plans
Working with the Manager to: develop and
maintain a service level agreement for the Team's provision of
LegalTech Services in the UK & Europe; and ensure the Team consistently meets those agreed service levels
Working with the Manager to: establish
effective risk management and quality control processes and
procedures; and develop and regularly update the Team runbook to
ensure it reflects those current processes and procedures
If requested, reviewing and updating
other elements of the Team runbook
New Third Party Solutions & Services
Identifying our UK & Europe legal teams and
clients' new and evolving LegalTech Services needs and requirements
Keeping abreast of new third party service and
product offerings.
Consulting with, and preparing proposals for the
consideration of, the Manager in relation to potentially piloting
and implementing new third party services and products for our
legal teams and/or clients in UK & Europe.
Working with the Team to pilot and, if pilots are
successful, working with the Team as well as others (such as the
firm's Information Security, Risk and Procurement teams) to
negotiate with and on-board new vendors and implement their
services and/or products
Training & Knowledge
Providing training for our legal teams
(in particular junior legal team members such as legal trainees)
and/or clients on the Team's processes, procedures and in-house software
Providing, and/or arranging vendors to provide,
training for our legal teams and/or clients on the use of third
party software
Advising our legal teams and/or clients
on technical best practices and sharing your technical knowledge
and experience with them
Through this training and knowledge
sharing, promoting the LegalTech Services function and services to
our legal teams and/or clients in order to develop new business
for the LegalTech Services function
Essential Skills & Experience
Background
Substantial experience in a professional
environment (private practice experience preferred but in-house and
eDiscovery vendor experience also highly valued) with progressive
and sustained increase in responsibility and role requirements over
the years
eDiscovery
Advanced understanding of EDRM processes
and best practice, and of analytics and assisted review (Technology
Assisted Review and Continuous Active Learning) and other
accelerated review protocols
Project Management
Substantial experience of project managing
all technical elements of large and complex document review and
disclosure matters, including database management, demonstrated by a
track record of successfully managing many matters concurrently
Technical
Advanced knowledge of document review /
disclosure and hearing support systems including Relativity, HighQ
Collaborate, and Opus 2 Magnum
Risk & Quality Control
Experience of having identified,
remediated and/or mitigated risks arising from service delivery and
conducting quality control reviews and remediation projects

Ability to set and meet challenging
