Role : UK Partner Tax Manager

Key Responsibilities

Managing the tax reserving process for UK resident partners including:

  1. Accounting aspects

- Allocation of partnership taxable income from the various Firm's partnerships

- Monthly review of tax reserve postings.

- Posting journals onto accounting system to ensure tax reserves shows up to date position.

- Review and allocation of foreign taxes paid by branches and withheld from clients.

- Deferred tax calculations

  1. Tax Aspects

- Calculation of annual tax reserve charge.

- Calculation of review of effective tax rates.

- Double tax relief claims and management of the foreign tax account.

- Tax equalisation calculations when required.

- Applying available tax reliefs.

- Review of the former partner tax balances.

Management of the partner tax payments/refunds, including:

- Preparation/review of tax payment schedules provided by external advisers.

- Requesting payments from partners of personal non-Clyde related income

- Analysing former partner balances.

- Advise on applications for reductions in payments on account where necessary.

4. First point of contact for partners including:

- Briefing lateral hires and newly promoted partners.

- Preparation of a tax reconciliation for departing partners including review of the deed of withdrawals.

- Preparation of annual tax reserve statement.

- Responding to partner / external tax adviser queries.

  1. Project work will form part of the role as when and necessary. Current projects ongoing include the transition to tax year basis and review of excess profits allocated from non-UK entities/branches.
  2. Preparing and sending partnership tax return information to external tax advisers and liaising with internal finance teams, in particular the partner accounting team.
  3. May be required to travel to other Clyde UK based offices.
  4. Provide support to all team members in busy periods.

Essential Skills & Experience

  1. Qualified ACA/ACCA
  2. CTA qualified or 2 years minimum experience in a tax related role
  3. Excellent Excel skills
  4. Experience using an accounting system
  5. Excellent communication skills
  6. Ability to work remotely
