Description

The Legal Cashier provides competent and efficient assistance in cashier/book - keeping duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and manage incoming payments by Check, ACH and Bank Wires on a daily basis.
  • Process Write offs and Service charge per request via email.
  • Transfer payments from operating to trust account, from trust to operating accounts and from trust to trust accounts.
  • Send email to the Collections department for allocation instructions.
  • Send e-mails to staff member for matter number.
  • Research 3E for allocation instructions.
  • Manage & rename files for FileSite.
  • Assist with backup per request.
  • Assist with different projects as needed.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of 3E and/or Enterprise software helpful, but not required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Must be a team player and have interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Excel and Word
  • Above all, possess the highest standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in a relevant position
  • Previous accounts receivable/legal cashier experience (preferably in a law firm or other professional services firms).
