Description

This role is part of the Enterprise Solutions SharePoint development team responsible for the service operations relating to SharePoint and web and portal applications. The SharePoint online Developer participates in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to successfully deliver quality application solutions to the firm's users, practice teams and administrative groups. This includes analysing, selecting and implementing SharePoint software solutions as well as requirements gathering, application architecture & modelling, custom application development, multiple systems integration within the SharePoint and web environments.

This precaution was taken to help protect our people, clients and communities. It is likely that this role will start virtually while the firm continues to evaluate the situation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with the Enterprise Solutions SharePoint team in identifying and proposing application system changes, providing 'best use' advice, enhancements and developments within the SharePoint Online environment.
  • Gathers requirements and guides end users to a mutually beneficial solution for the firm and clients.
  • Makes recommendations to direct management and other firm personnel on modifications, enhancements, replacements and other improvements to the firm's SharePoint applications.
  • Provides primary maintenance, upgrading and development for the firm's SharePoint applications.
  • Works with other staff to develop and maintain standard practices and metrics related to site design, programming and business systems analysis.
  • Provides quality assurance, testing and documentation for SharePoint applications.
  • Meets with vendors to discuss issues associated with software products and to maintain current knowledge on the latest developments in software technology.
  • Coordinates with Systems and Applications personnel on issues related to deployment of the firm's SharePoint applications.
  • Assists Help Desk Analysts and firm users after normal business hours
  • Monitor business applications and advise on any possible service improvements.
  • Document work and take part in user meetings and assist in presenting issues and solutions both orally and in writing.
  • Assists in defining acceptance tests for new or changed automated systems.
  • Assist in building a knowledge base for the Enterprise Solutions team.
  • System administration on a variety of SharePoint applications.
  • Works with the Enterprise Solutions team to set up internal operating procedures, KPIs and reports to review performance.
  • Works with internal teams and departments to ensure smooth and efficient workflows.

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience of applications development in Microsoft SharePoint Online (SharePoint 2013 experience a plus), including site creation, access control, Theme designs and O365 integration
  • SharePoint Webpart development experience including React, jQuery, SP Services, CSS3 and HTML5.
  • SharePoint workflow experience with 3rd party tools such as Nintex is desirable.
  • PowerShell familiarity/experience/expertise
  • Bachelor's degree with major coursework in related field; or combination of education and commensurate work experience required.
  • Trade Training preferred; 5 years' relevant experience required, preferably in a professional services environment.
  • Experience with full lifecycle web development in a multi-tier environment, including Standard Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  • Experience with standard project management methodologies.
  • Experience with business analysis techniques and methodologies.
  • Experience with user interface design, including creative design and usability.
  • Experience with conceptual, logical and physical database design, stored procedures and DTS packages.
  • Legal practice/process experience a plus
  • Understanding of internet application technologies - HTML, XML, Internet Protocols, web server configurations, internet applications architectures + internet security.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge of SQL Server, Active Directory (AD), MS Office and Citrix applications environment.
  • Professional standards - familiar with help desk procedures, corporate quality procedures, change management procedures and release management procedures.
  • SharePoint administration experience.
  • ITIL Foundation certified
