Clyde & Co is seeking a Litigation Associate with 1-3 years of experience to work with their practice focused on the defense of complex asbestos, environmental and other product liability matters.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Taking depositions, attending hearings, and mediations as required;
  • Drafting pleadings and briefs;
  • Preparing correspondence to colleagues and clients;
  • Conducting legal research using Westlaw/Lexis/Nexis;
  • Drafting interrogatories and document demands;
  • Reviewing document collections in preparation for litigation;
  • Submitting filings to the court.

Education and Experience

  • J.D./LLM;
  • Admission to practice in Missouri is required; Admission to practice in New York, New Jersey, California, Illinois, and/or Maryland is a plus;
  • Litigation experience is required; Commercial litigation experience is ideal.
  • Asbestos/toxic tort experience is a plus;
  • Court room experience including motions is a plus;
  • Trial experience is a plus.

  • Exceptional legal writing and communication skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills:
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects;
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly.
