Clyde & Co seeks a mid to senior
level attorney with 5+ years of commercial contract litigation and/or
insurance coverage experience. We are looking for a bright attorney
who is experienced in and enjoys complex commercial and coverage
litigation, primarily arising out of large loss first-party commercial
property coverage disputes. The candidate should be an excellent
writer; well-versed in federal civil practice; and highly motivated
and proactive with their caseload—someone who will be able to act
independently and comfortable taking on a leadership role in large
complex matters. A successful candidate will have experience with, and
an interest in, multi-party and multi-jurisdiction litigation that
includes a number of parties, typical in complex commercial contract
or other corporate litigation as well as with catastrophic loss
insurance coverage litigation matters.
The attorney will be ideally located in
either Atlanta GA, California, Washington, New York or New Jersey. We
would be open to other locations for the right candidate. Multi-state
licensing is a plus.
Our hiring practice group represents and
advises domestic and international insurers in complex insurance
coverage matters across the United States, including commercial
property and commercial general liability claims. This is an excellent
opportunity for an experienced attorney who is able to work within a
busy and fast-paced team environment and looking for professional growth.
Responsibilities
Develop litigation strategy for insurance coverage litigation
commercial disputes and class-actions;
Conduct complex and rigorous legal research and analysis, and
draft memoranda;
Analyze insurance policies and claims, draft analyses of coverage
issues and provide coverage advice and recommendations for clients;
Take and defend depositions;
Play an active role in managing large scale discovery and large
scale discovery disputes;
Draft motions, pleadings, memos, briefs, discovery requests,
interrogatories, and other legal correspondence and litigation documents;
Attend court hearings and mediations;
Work on all aspects of pretrial to trial;
Education and Experience Required
Admitted to practice in either Georgia, California, Washington,
New York or New Jersey. Additional admissions are a plus.
5+ years of commercial contract and insurance coverage litigation experience.
Commercial property experience is a plus;
State and federal court experience;
Excellent academic credentials;
Solid work history.
