Description

The OCM Manager leads the Organisational Change Management team within the Project Management Office of the firm's Global IT department. The IT PMO oversees the delivery of all IT projects for the firm. The IT PMO is made up of the following teams: Project Delivery, Business Analysis, Centre of Excellence, and OCM. This role is targeted to be located in Kansas City in order to provide PMO management coverage outside of the UK.

The Role

The OCM Manager leads a team of OCM Analysts who work across multiple IT project delivery teams to maximise return on investment by driving business adoption of new technologies. This is achieved through:

  • The creation and execution of awareness campaigns and targeted deployment communications, to minimise employee resistance and maximize employee engagement
  • The provision of appropriate training, to drive faster adoption and higher end-user proficiency
  • The execution of post-implementation reviews with end users, to increase utilisation of the new technologies
  • The quantification and tracking of ROI through effective benefits management across the project lifecycle
  • The maintenance of a collated view of the organisational change impact of the IT project portfolio across geographies and departments, to ensure that the business can absorb the aggregate change resulting from multiple IT projects.

Key Responsibilities

OCM Strategy

  • Development of goals and strategies for the OCM team that are complimentary to the strategic priorities of the wider organisation
  • Development and review of all OCM standard operating procedures and best practices, resulting in consistent, repeatable methods
  • Support the wider PMO with business stakeholder engagement to understand and manage future demand for change
  • Acting as a trusted strategic advisor, work alongside business and IT leaders to help determineOCM requirements for IT projects
  • Capacity and capability forecasting and evaluation to ensure team activities are prioritised and team resources are allocated appropriately
  • Development and reporting of team performance metrics, plus analysis and intervention to improve team performance
  • Monitor OCM functional compliance with policies and standards

OCM Execution

Provide management oversight for the team of OCM Analysts to support the successful delivery of the following:

  • Performing business impact assessments (incl. identifying output recommendations) for technology implementation projects
  • Creating and executing the OCM Plan for technology implementation projects
  • Upfront definition of the target benefits for a project, and oversight of the measurement of realised benefits (typically post-deployment)
  • Planning and execution of large-scale multi-channel awareness campaigns for upcoming major new technology deployments
  • Oversight of delivery of training artefacts (QRGs, videos, etc.) of professional-level quality
  • Creating and executing (post-deployment) the Adoption Assurance Plan for technology implementation projects, including designing and performing post-implementation reviews, and distilling the summary recommendations based on the review feedback
  • Ensure the OCM team contributes as required to weekly project progress reporting
  • Ensure the OCM team contributes as required to the identification and management of project risks and issues

Essential Skills & Experience

OCM-specific

  • Substantial proven experience in a similar role within a professional services environment, ideally on a large scale with global impact
  • Expert-level knowledge of OCM and associated methodologies, techniques, processes, and approaches for defining, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling the OCM contribution to technology projects and programmes
  • Application of the Prosci ADKAR methodology in enterprise projects
  • Developing others through coaching on OCM disciplines
  • Defining and executing IT project Business Impact Assessments and associated response plans, all with business stakeholder participation
  • Enterprise curriculum development and Learning Management (LMS) administration / oversight
  • Benefits management for IT projects across the full project lifecycle

Qualifications and Certifications

  • Prosci Certified Change Practitioner (essential)
