Clyde & Co seeks a highly motivated
and bright attorney with ideally 10+ years of experience in insurance
coverage litigation. We are looking for an excellent writer who is
highly motivated and proactive with their caseload—someone who will be
able to act independently and comfortable taking on a leadership role
with their cases, with experience and an interest in working on
complex insurance coverage litigation matters.
Our hiring practice group represents
international and domestic insurers in complex insurance coverage
litigation matters with regards to all manner of liability policies,
including commercial general liability, and focuses on insurance for
industries that drive Southern California's industries: construction,
energy, entertainment and maritime.
The attorney will be ideally located in
Los Angeles, CA but we are also open to other locations in California
for the right candidate.
Responsibilities and requirements
Analyze insurance policies, drafting coverage opinions and
providing coverage advice and recommendations to clients;
Conduct complex and rigorous legal research and analysis, and
draft memoranda;
Draft and review pleadings, memos, briefs, discovery, motions with
supporting briefs and other legal correspondence;
Prepare formal correspondence to opposing counsel and other parties;
Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations as required.
Education and Experience
Excellent academic credentials;
Admitted to practice in California;
Ideally 10+ years of experience in complex insurance coverage
litigation matters;
Experience in commercial general liability;
Federal court experience.
Skills and Abilities Required
Excellent legal research, writing and verbal communication skills;
Strong organizational and time management skills;
Ability to handle matters of a highly sensitive nature;
Ability to handle time sensitive matters, sometimes several simultaneously;
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects;
Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly.
