Clyde & Co is seeking an Entry Level Litigation Associate to work with our practice based in Chicago, IL focused on the defense of complex product liability matters and commercial disputes, working with policyholders, brokers, London Market and other domestic and international insurers in this space and in relation to other latent type insurance claims. The attorney will be based either in St Louis, MO (working 100% remotely) or in Kansas City, MO (working on-site from our KC office and off-site).

The attorney must be admitted to practice in Missouri (with a score of 266+) or Illinois.

Responsibilities

You will gain experience in:

  • Taking depositions, attending hearings, and mediations as required;
  • Drafting pleadings and briefs;
  • Preparing correspondence to colleagues and clients;
  • Conducting legal research using Westlaw/Lexis/Nexis;
  • Drafting interrogatories and document demands;
  • Reviewing document collections in preparation for litigation;
  • Submitting filings to the court.

Education and Experience

  • J.D./LLM;
  • Admission to practice in Illinois or Missouri (with a score of 266+) is required; UBE admission is a plus.
  • Commercial litigation experience is a plus;
  • Asbestos/toxic tort experience is a plus;
  • Court room experience including motions is a plus;
  • Trial experience is a plus.
