Description
Job purpose
To support Partners and case handlers in providing Government Liaison
services to clients and provide a direct interface with the
ministries, government departments and free zone authorities.
Key responsibilities
Obtain corporate approvals, submit and follow up on complicated
and routine applications with government departments and free zone
authorities particularly in relation to incorporating new companies,
amending registers and cancelling entities.
Assisting clients to arrange for routine documents to be attested
by a UAE Notary Public.
Handle Trade Marks and Intellectual Property submissions to the
UAE Ministry of Economy.
Establish and maintain long term relationships with relevant
government officials to facilitate obtaining required information,
using such contacts as and when required on an ongoing basis
Discuss client matters with associates to try and find solutions
to some of the obstacles and difficulties facing clients'
requirements and further discuss the proposed solutions with
government officials in order to obtain the prospected results
Represent clients directly in certain matters that relate to the
police and public prosecutions as required
Represent partners and other fee earners before government
departments with respect to any discussions concerning clients'
requirements which sometimes requires holding meetings with high
ranking government officials
Prepare draft letters and applications to government departments.
Input tasks on the daily report for dissemination to Partners and Associates.
Any other tasks which are required as flexibility is key to this role.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate will:
be Arabic speaking and educated up to high school/diploma level
have at least 3 years' GLO experience and excellent knowledge of
UAE systems and procedures; law firm experience desirable
have good contacts with officials in the key government
departments in UAE
have good research skills and commercial awareness
be proactive with the ability to manage conflicting priorities
have good communication and interpersonal skills
be able to work discretely and deal with confidential information
