Claims Investigator - Casualty Team - Glasgow or Edinburgh
We are looking to recruit for a Claims Investigator to
join our Edinburgh or Glasgow office.

to join Clyde and Co. The role will be supporting the Catastrophic
Injury and Large Loss department within the Casualty region of the firm.
A unique opportunity has arisen for a Claims
Investigator to join our Edinburgh or Glasgow office. If you are an
experienced Claims Investigator who can provide a proactive and
accurate liability investigation service, this role could be the one
for you. You will work in partnership with lawyers and insurer
clients investigating a portfolio of your own claims whilst
assisting senior lawyers with the investigations needed on their files.
Please note the role involves site visits, so the role
will require travelling to various locations in Scotland. This role
will include hybrid working and can be based out of our Edinburgh or
Glasgow office.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver a visible, effective, and efficient
investigation service
Undertake proactive liability investigations,
obtaining the relevant evidence to generate detailed reports
Provide thorough consideration in assessing risk and
associated costs
Conduct eyewitness interviews
Organise incoming instructions to satisfy service
levels agreed
Make accurate & timely liability decisions based
on assessment of information/evidence
Ensure investigation timeframes are always adhered to
Record & log management information to support workflow
Work within an agreed geographical area
Essential Skills & Experience
Extensive claims investigation experience
Previous experience of working in-house at a law
firm, loss adjusters or an insurer would be desirable but not essential
Knowledge of insurance claims handling and principles
Detailed working knowledge of industry standards and benchmarks
Strong technical knowledge of commercial insurance
policies and documentation.
Able to establish credibility quickly in the claim's
investigation environment
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
The ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently
and effectively
A professional manner with the ability to build
relationships internally and externally
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
