The Team

We advise on the complete real estate life cycle and our practice spans the full spectrum of transactional and contentious real estate work and associated disciplines including investment, development, planning, corporate, finance, litigation and tax across all asset classes.

We act for significant UK and international property companies, public authorities, private investors, developers and corporate occupiers. We have a strong reputation for the strength and depth of our real estate expertise, offering the combined benefits of experience, market knowledge and a first-class service delivery.

We provide partner led advice with excellent client service at its core and technical accuracy a fundamental requirement. Our lawyers are exposed to a wide range of projects across the market making them both knowledgeable and adaptable to differing projects, clients and market conditions. In the last year alone, we have worked on deals valued in excess of £11.5 billion.

The Role

Our paralegals are key members of our team assisting on a wide variety of real estate transactions including sales, purchases, lettings and financings. We are looking for a highly organised and motivated individual who can take responsibility for their own workload and work with others to drive efficiencies.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Dealing with all aspects of sales of units in residential developments.
  • Liaising with external lawyers and clients where appropriate.
  • Tracking the progress of transactions and providing updates to clients.
  • Managing legal data rooms.
  • Preparing draft documents based on templates.
  • Reviewing documents and preparing reports on them.
  • Attending to post completion matters including preparing and filing SDLT returns and Land Registry applications.

Training will be provided.

This role would suit an individual who would like practical legal experience as a step towards qualifying as a solicitor.

This is a full-time position and requires attendance in the Guildford office.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • An undergraduate law degree or equivalent.
  • Completed the LPC or equivalent.
  • Previous paralegal experience or experience in Real Estate desirable, but not essential.
  • IT skills, including Word and Excel. Previous use of an electronic disclosure platform desirable, but not essential.
  • Excellent organisation skills and the ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail working in a fast paced and deadline orientated role.
  • Excellent communication skills.
