The Role
An excellent opportunity to join a team handling a mix of EL/PL
claims alongside product liability, medical device/clinical trial and
aviation claims. The team has particular expertise in complex,
cross-border or multi-party product liability claims.
This role will specifically focus on supporting clients of the
property and liability team with personal injury and catastrophic
injury claims, including liability
investigations, policy coverage assessments, quantum assessments for
all levels of Multi-Track claims
Key Responsibilities:
Working with all members of the team and you will be exposed to a
variety of work, but predominantly acting on behalf of a range of
insurance companies and self-insured commercial organisations.
Assisting on a varied caseload of Product, EL/PL and indemnity
large loss cases.
Carrying out investigations, reviewing insurance policies, taking
witness statements, reviewing and interpreting medical records and
medical reports.
Adhering to reporting and reserving requirements in relation to
different client SLAs, to include assessing coverage
File Management - including initial reports, updating reports and correspondence
Attending and appearing at court and pre-trial meetings,
JSM/mediations and adhering to court timetables
You will support the Partners in servicing existing clients,
growing new business and maintaining relationships with clients
using technical excellence and innovation
Drafting of all legal documents and client advice. Dealing with
interlocutory proceedings, CMCs and client meetings.
Essential Skills & Experience
Experienced associate (4 PQE +) with a background in insurance
litigation and personal or catastrophic injury. Please note that our
PQE levels are a guide and all suitable candidates will be considered.
Qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales.
The Solicitors Act 1974 requires practising solicitors to have a
practising certificate.
All solicitors and registered European lawyers in legal practice
or employment in England & Wales must comply with the
requirements of the Solicitors Regulation Authority's continuing
professional development scheme (CPD Scheme).
