The Team

This role will be working across the Insurance, Financial and Professional Disputes group in London, gaining exposure to a variety of legal matters and working with a mix of Associates and Partners.

Our insurance teams handle claims across every line of insurance and reinsurance, from the smallest claim to the largest and most complex loss. Our international experience enables an unequalled ability to advise in relation to complex multi-jurisdictional disputes, and on structuring global programmes.

Our political risk team focuses on the areas of political risk and trade credit, political violence and terrorism, specie, fine art and cargo, and bloodstock. The team are also involved with many cases including fraud, trade finance and commodity frauds.

The Role

This role offers the successful candidate a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic insurance team. You will be working directly with clients, on a variety of matters across their multifaceted client group.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 6 PQE with previous experience working within political risk and trade credit. Please note that our PQE levels are a guide and all suitable candidates will be considered.
  • The Solicitors Act 1974 requires practicing solicitors to have a practising certificate.
  • Must be a qualified solicitor. Successful completion of a Training Contract (or equivalent) and relevant education (Legal Practice Course; Graduate Diploma in Law (if non Law graduate).
  • All solicitors and registered European lawyers in legal practice or employment in England & Wales must comply with the requirements of the Solicitors Regulation Authority's continuing professional development scheme (CPD Scheme).
  • The ideal candidate will display excellent legal ability and initiative, strong technical skills as well as confidence in managing and prioritising a full and varied workload. They will be a strong communicator with good attention to detail.
  • The ideal candidate will be proactive and have a good teamwork ethic, with a willingness to assume responsibility.
