Due to significant growth and client demand, we are actively recruiting a talented Senior Associate into our highly respected and growing Private Equity Practice. This is a senior level role within the team, running deals and effectively acting as No 2 to the Lead Partner. Our well run, dynamic Private Equity team often punches above its weight. Its vision is to be the foremost Private Equity Legal Team in the Southwest and it is making strong progress, recently achieving UK-wide Chambers recognition and quickly building market presence. There are four core areas of focus which you would become involved in namely:
Transactional work for Private Equity funds (with particular expertise in "buy and build" and "bolt on" transactions) – with a national and international focus;
Management advisory work;
Private Equity portfolio companies; and
Equity structuring for Islamic Finance transactions
The team acts for many reputable clients, including, Ardian, HgCapital, Business Growth Fund, Sailing Capital and Citic M&A Fund Management. They also provide direct support to our Islamic Finance practice, both on executing deals and more widely. Our Private Equity Team is the only UK based team with Private Equity structuring in Islamic Finance specialism outside London, providing bespoke advice to several key players in this market (for example, Greenridge and 90North).
The team sits within our wider Corporate Team, which is over 30 strong and supports a wide range of clients, from global businesses on transactions with an international dimension to entrepreneurs and business owners requiring local expertise and connections. The team is regularly recognised as one of the most active deal advisers in the South West by Experian and won Corporate Law Firm of the Year at the South West Business Insider Dealmakers Awards 2015.
Our lawyers work across our Corporates, Owner-Managed-Business and Private Equity segments, with support, training and the opportunity to specialise in their chosen area and take on growing responsibility.

We are looking for talented individuals, with a track record of working at a City firm or a highly regarded national or regional practice, with a sound reputation for corporate matters. You will be highly motivated to work as part of this highly entrepreneurial, fast growing team. You will be able to demonstrate:
Solid Private Equity deal experience and experience of acting as lead Senior Associate on transactions.
Proven technical knowledge - a sound understanding and practical application of the law
Commercial awareness and focus
Excellent drafting and communications skills
Strong analytical and project management skills
Strong inter-personal skills, including being a team player with the ability to work independently if required;
A genuine desire and interest in building client relationships;
A real appetite for learning and developing both your legal and wider personal and business skills
