POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are expanding our finance team to
include the new role of Director, Practice Finance which is designed
to enhance the revenue operations and financial strategy of our
firm. As the Director, Practice Finance, you will lead a team on
initiatives critical to the financial health and strategic growth of
our firm. You will collaborate closely with Senior Partners and the
Finance team to optimize revenue management, ensure compliance,
drive financial performance and importantly, improve the
collaboration and quality of interactions between Partners and the
Finance team. You will help to build-out and lead the European
Practice Financial Analyst team, to drive actionable insights that
will improve our performance.You are ideal for this role if you have
experience in financial analysis, partnering with the business, and
leading teams and are excited by building and creating new process
and programs to drive growth as well as teaching and developing talent.
Essential Functions:
Attorney Focused:
Increase Finance Team engagement with Attorneys through deepening
key relationships; build financial credibility amongst the firm by
showcasing the value and capabilities of Finance.
Drive Financial change management and training initiatives, such
as developing better Partner reporting through PowerBI, improving
our monthly close and reporting, upgrading our time-entry system,
and training new Share Partners on matter management.
Act as single Finance point-of-contact for Partners and clients on
complex issues needing key stakeholder coordination and assistance.
Finance Focused:
Develop relationships, credibility, and influence across Finance
team that will be necessary for managing Partner requests, successfully.
Work with Finance leadership and various teams including Pricing,
Billing, Revenue Operations, eBilling, and others, to improve
overall quality and effectiveness of output.
Train Finance team staff on effective presentation and
communication, with a focus on understanding how the business thinks.
Drive improvements to the revenue cycle, such as modifying or
adding key controls, metrics, or reporting as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
Extensive progressive experience in financial management within a
law firm or professional services environment.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex
financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
Appropriate undergraduate/post graduate degree qualification is
preferred, but not essential.
Accounting experience, experience leading FP&A or Investor
Relations teams is not required, but is a plus.
Strong understanding of all aspects of the Revenue Cycle.
Proven leadership and team management experience, with strong
interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple
priorities effectively Ability to build a strong rapport with senior
stakeholders - both partners and the Finance team.
Customer service orientation - willing to jump in and assist; this
role will provide a mix of leading and doing.
Ability to effectively managereporting and analysisfor multiple
partners and clients.
Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
Technologies/Software
MS Office with emphasis on Advanced Excel skills and PowerPoint
presentation experience; knowledge of SQL a plus.
General accounting software and database software, with an
existing understanding of relational database concepts; knowledge of
PowerBI a plus.
