The Department

The People Team play a key role in enabling the firm to attract, develop and retain great people, and giving them the tools and support needed to develop and fulfil their potential, and that of the firm. The team is welcoming, inclusive, driven by providing a 'high touch' level of service, and collaborative in terms of how we work. The team consists of c.50 people in both business-facing, generalist roles (Advisory) alongside specialist teams (Data & Systems; Reward; Diversity, Inclusion & Wellbeing; Employment, Policy & Engagement; Talent Acquisition, as well as our Academy, which consists of Academy Learning, Academy Tech and Early Careers).

Duties and Responsibilities

The firm has grown rapidly in recent years, which has meant that policy, processes and systems have had to change to support this. A key focus of the Firm's strategic vision is to leverage technical advancements to help drive operational stability, process automation and innovation.

One of these challenges is ensuring People data is used effectively through the Firm. The person in this role will have an important role in developing and providing the data required.

The role will involve the following:

  • Enhance the department's reputation by showcasing methods where data insights (trends, MI reporting, predictive analysis etc) can be used to add value for the business.
  • Searching for opportunities to improve systems in order to drive engagement, deepen the experience for the end user and reduce the administrative burden on the People Team.
  • Support the People Systems & Data Manager with wider projects linked to our Reward & Systems roadmap and expanding the firm's use of Success Factors.
  • Opportunity to lead projects linked to our Reward & Systems roadmap.
  • Be a SME for data and reporting, ensuring it continues to support and optimise all our employee life cycle processes.
  • Execute regular data cleanses and reconciliations. Be confident in working with large sets of data, data manipulation as well as the ability to transform raw data into meaningful outputs.
  • Demonstrate an ongoing endeavour to ensure data integrity and transparency is achieved in all aspects to do with managing and providing people information.
  • Develop a deep level of understanding regarding how data flows between the core HR database and other systems across the firm and specifically the downstream impacts on other departments.
  • Manage all people reporting and analytics requirements, ensuring data is accurate and easy to access. Working with internal system experts and strategic partners to develop dashboards and reports for our leaders.
  • Produce statistics and figures required for client pitches, compliance accreditations, Business Development surveys and employee engagement questionnaires.
  • Build and maintain complex employee reports via the People System and act as an escalation point for all people reporting queries. Having confidence in dealing with standard HR report types such as sickness, holiday, headcount, demographic breakdowns, attrition/retention, diversity as well as being able to identify year on year trends.
  • Be aware of GDPR, and other data protection laws, and ensure any compliance concerns/issues are reported to the People Systems and Data Manager and/or People Advisory Director.
  • Support the People Systems & Data Manager in system maintenance activities.

Skills/Experience

  • Experience in the configuration in SAP Success Factors.
  • Experience in building and maintaining reporting / analytics in SAP Success Factors.
  • Minimum 3 years HR functional and People Systems experience.
  • Experience working with multiple People systems including HRIS, Recruitment, Performance, Learning etc.
  • Advanced expertise in MS Excel (specifically 'vlookups', pivot tables, 'if' formulas etc.).
  • Expertise in using PowerBI preferable.
  • Experience dealing with large sets of data and being able to manipulate this into meaningful outputs.
  • Critical thinker with attention to detail.
  • Understanding of data protection regulations e.g. GDPR.
  • Maturity in dealing with confidential data including salaries.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage own workload.
  • Excellent communicator - good written and oral communications skills with the ability to interact and communicate at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Personable and confident, able to build relationships with partners/ key stakeholders.
  • Resilient and calm under pressure.
  • Adaptable and flexible approach with a proven ability to solve problems.
  • Pro active and takes initiative.
