The Department
The People Team play a key role in enabling the firm to attract,
develop and retain great people, and giving them the tools and support
needed to develop and fulfil their potential, and that of the firm.
The team is welcoming, inclusive, driven by providing a 'high touch'
level of service, and collaborative in terms of how we work. The team
consists of c.50 people in both business-facing, generalist roles
(Advisory) alongside specialist teams (Data & Systems; Reward;
Diversity, Inclusion & Wellbeing; Employment, Policy &
Engagement; Talent Acquisition, as well as our Academy, which consists
of Academy Learning and Early Careers).
This role will be within our Academy Learning Team with the
opportunity to work alongside the wider business. The Mishcon Academy,
established in 2013, delivers university quality education across a
wide range of areas for everyone at Mishcon.
Duties and Responsibilities
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our
market-leading Academy Team on a 12-month fixed term contract. The
role would support the design, development and delivery of our fee
earner skills framework and curriculum.
Given the nature of our Academy offering at Mishcon, we are looking
for candidates who are self-starting, able to build strong and lasting
relationships, are confident presenters and are flexible in their approach.
Working in collaboration with key stakeholders across the team and
wider firm, successful candidates will:
Provide L&D support across all fee earning departments.
Coordination and management of all L&D legal projects and
programmes linked to fee earner development.
Support with the design and delivery of our three academic terms,
with a specific focus on legal learning.
Create and deliver learning across the firm.
Liaise and build relationships with both our internal and external faculty.
Coordination of our fee earner professional qualifications and
membership programme.
Coordination of our induction process for new joiners and returners.
Coordination and management of the fee earner L&D budgets.
Partner with the supporting specialist
functions within the People Team and beyond.
Skills/Experience
Professional services background desirable, ideally within a law firm.
Project and programme management.
Good instructional design skills.
Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, in person and virtual.
Personable and confident, able to build relationships with
stakeholders across the business.
Resilient and calm under pressure.
Pro active and clear communication.
Adaptable and flexible approach.
Takes initiative.
Experience of LMS systems and online learning desirable but not essential.
