Duties and Responsibilities
A hands-on role covering all aspects of the Accounts Payable function
for Mishcon de Reya LLP and other group entities (including overseas
offices). You will be working within a team of 4 reporting to the
Accounts Payable Manager.
To provide a high-quality accounting service to the Firm; to be
responsive to the changing needs and priorities of the department
and to provide ad hoc support to departmental colleagues as and when required.
Working from the shared Accounts Payable mailbox and deal with
supplier queries, ensuring they are resolved efficiently and professionally.
Accurately process supplier invoices, ensuring they are
appropriately authorised, coded and posted on to the system.
Work closely with Travel Bureau to process data in a timely manner
and ensure accurate booking information is received and reconciled.
Review and Audit of the of employee expense claims, ensuring
appropriate authorisation, receipts provided, correct coding for all
expense claim items, and following up on employee queries.
Work to agreed weekly timeframes for payment of supplier invoices
and employee expense claims.
Work with key members of staff (e.g. heads of department, budget
holders, PAs etc.) to ensure procedures are understood and complied with.
Skills/Experience
Previous work experience within an Account Payable or Payment
Processing team.
Basic understanding of accounting principles.
Five GCSE (including Maths and English) at level C or above.
Good mathematical skills (candidates must be comfortable working
with numbers).
Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent attention to detail.
Excellent organisational skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Personable and confident, able to build relationships with
partners/ key stakeholders.
Adaptable and flexible approach.
Pro-active and takes initiative, with a 'can-do' attitude.
This role will also support a study
package for AAT exams following a 6 months probationary period
