being considered a necessary support function, our Finance
department is an integral part of the strategy of the firm and this
is reflected both by the level of investment and how new initiatives
are discussed at the most senior level.
Summary of the Position
Working as part of the Tax team,
the Tax Manager is responsible for the tax affairs of the group,
overseeing all Corporate Tax matters and supporting the Senior Tax
Manager in Partnership tax matters.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the preparation of
corporation tax computations, tax disclosures for statutory accounts
for limited companies
Provide support with other corporate
tax matters as required and ensuring ongoing compliance with
corporate tax compliance obligations.
Ensuring international tax
compliance for all overseas offices.
General withholding tax management
and resolution of related queries.
Manage correspondence and compliance
with HMRC and other tax authorities globally as required.
Collaborate with internal finance
teams to provide details on accounting processes and transactions.
Assist with the preparation of
monthly/ quarterly/ year end tax disclosures in IFRS.
Drafting initial year end tax
provision calculations.
Reviewing transfer pricing policies
and ensuring documentation is up to date.
Advising on taxation implications of
overseas workers / employee secondments along side our external tax advisors.
Participate in numerous large
advisory projects including the structuring of new developments, tax
financing, capital allowance projects, transfer pricing, and
employment related securities.
Being one of the primary contacts
for HMRC and our external tax advisors on all tax matters.
Supporting the Senior Tax manager on
individual partner tax and LLP partnership tax, to include: -
Partner tax reserving calculations and reconciliation of
balances; - Preparation of LLP partnership tax computation /
return; and - Assisting in the partner tax payments to HMRC and
the accounting thereof.
Skills and Experience
Accounting and or Taxation
Qualification, or QBE.
Extensive experience of
individual and corporate partner taxation and related accounting.
Experience working in a
partnership environment preferred but not essential.
Strong attention to detail with
a methodical and logical approach.
Excellent communication skills
both oral and written.
High levels of confidentiality,
discretion, and diplomacy.
Confident in dealing face to
face with partners in a measured way with the ability to impart
complex financial information in meaningful manner.
Highly organised with an eye for
efficiencies and improvements.
Ability to work under pressure
and prioritise conflicting requirements effectively.
Ability to work independently to
research and provide advice on technical tax matters coupled with
forward planning skills.
Hard working, flexible and
willing to undertake ad hoc projects and duties within a small team.
