A newly created role, the Trust and Tax Executive will support the
Trusts and Tax Manager in the management and administration of a
sizeable portfolio of UK trusts and personal taxation, working closely
with a team of wills, trusts and estates lawyers.

The Role
Working alongside Private Wealth and Tax
partners and Mishcon de Reya Trust Corporation directors to offer
internal accountancy and taxation services; you will be expected to
work closely with the lawyers in the team specialising in the
administration of trusts and estates. We service the varying needs
of a wide range of clients including, ultra-high net worth
individuals, Non-domiciled UK Residents, landed estates,
entrepreneurs, personal injury and vulnerable individuals, busy
professionals and beneficiaries of estates. The work will be
primarily UK focused but often encompasses international aspects
such as a trustee, beneficiary or tax payer being non UK resident or
an estate containing foreign assets.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supporting all aspects of applications for the Trusts Regulation
Service from preparation through to successful registration.
Gathering required information, performing calculations and
dealing with all associated filings and administration for tax
returns, income tax, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax.
Preparing estate and trust accounts.
Collating information for TRS/tax returns and compliance with HMRC.
Liaising with HMRC as required, on behalf of trustees and beneficiaries.
Building relationships with trustees and beneficiaries as part of
ongoing trust management.
Day to day financial management of trusts incorporating liaison
with intermediaries and beneficiaries.
File management to include, compliance, file opening, billing,
financial management etc. ensuring all work is undertaken in
compliance with the Firm's documented policies and procedures.
Skills/Experience
An accountancy qualification, likely to have between 3-5 years
post qualification experience working in private practice.
Some experience of working in a private client focused environment preferred.
Ability to work effectively on own initiative, and as part of a
team, to deliver consistently high quality work.
Well-developed time management skills, with the ability to juggle
tasks for different stakeholders whilst meeting deadlines.
Able to communicate clearly and concisely with a variety of
different people, tailoring approach as needed.
Exceptionally strong IT skills (MS Excel) together with a good
working knowledge of HMRC online platforms etc.
A forensic level of attention to detail, checking own work (and
input from others) for consistency and completeness.
Experience of using file/matter/document/time management systems
and in following documented quality control procedures in a
professional environment.
Experience with international clients, beneficiaries and assets.
Previous trust management experience welcomed but not essential.
