Our Finance team continues to go from strength to strength and we are
involved in exciting and innovative initiatives across the firm.
Rather than being considered a necessary support function, our Finance
department is an integral part of the strategy of the firm, and this
is reflected both by the level of investment and how new initiatives
are discussed at the most senior level.
Duties and Responsibilities
To provide a high-quality credit management provision meeting the
needs of both external and internal clients.
The main duties include, but are not limited to:
Independently managing a ledger of up to 450 client accounts.
Ensuring that accounts are actioned in a prompt manner and within
strict departmental and SRA guidelines.
Resolving client queries to ensure timely payment of debt.
Liaising with Partners & Fee Earners to facilitate payment.
Accurately maintaining client collection records.
Preparation of client statements and account history
reconciliations for internal stakeholders and clients of the firm.
Regular and ad hoc reporting of ledger debt figures to team
leaders / credit manager.
Preparation of reports in advance of attending Partner meetings.
Maintaining KPI's in line with individual and team standards.
Participating in Departmental initiatives.
Participating in Departmental Team Meetings.
Promoting the Department in a positive light both externally and internally.
Skills/Experience
Experience of credit management in a professional services
environment; previous legal experience would be beneficial but is
not essential.
Strong Excel skill including vlookups and pivot tables. Strong
numerical skills.
Tenacious and articulate both in writing and verbally. Comfortable
communicating with senior stakeholders.
Excellent attention to detail.
Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise work and
to work to deadlines.
Dynamic and driven; uses initiative.
Ability to effectively manage own workload.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Personable and confident, able to build relationships with
partners/ key stakeholders.
