The Role

As a DevOps Engineer you will maintain our development infrastructure and tooling. You will work with our data development teams to centralise, standardise and automate our deployments. This role demands a balance of technical expertise and collaborative skills, especially in optimising development processes and infrastructure going forward.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Migrate our code base to Azure DevOps from various repositories
• Automate Cloud Infrastructure Deployments
• Design and implement development standards, policies and templates (branching, security, monitoring, containerisation etc)
• Automate Deployment Pipelines
• Evangelising DevOps practices
• Offer automation advice and ideas to our business automation specialists
• Mentor junior engineers and non DevOps specialists

Skills/Experience

• Experience working with a range of Azure services, including services in the Azure data stack (ADF, Synapse Analytics etc)
• Comfortable navigating between on premise and Cloud technology stacks
• Good experience with IaC tooling, either Terraform or ARM.
• Proven ability to design and implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Comfortable with command line and code based scripting tools (e.g. PowerShell, Python)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and collaborative skills.
