The Immigration Team

We have decades of experience looking after HNW clients. Their requirements are always specific and often unusual but invariably they focus on speed of decision and ability to travel freely.Our considerable experience of dealing with theseoften enables us to overturn adverse decisions and avoid protracted and costly litigation. Our focus is to provide the highest levels of bespoke services to the most discerning international client base. For this we have a multinational team which is equipped with all the cultural and linguistic fluency that our clients expect.In addition to acting for individuals and families, we also advise corporate clients onBusiness Immigrationissues. We also work closely with colleagues whoadvise onTaxand Wealth Planning,Real Estate,Reputation ManagementandFamily lawso that we provideintegrated and innovative solutions.

Our services include:

Advising HNW and UHNW clients in respect of their UK immigration options where they wish to make inward investments to the UK

  • Advising clients wishing to establish a business in the UK
  • Skilled Worker and Intra Company Transfer visas (""work permit"" applications)
  • Advising companies on all aspects of sponsor licensing, Home Office compliance and right to work checks
  • Sole representatives of overseas organisations
  • Entrepreneur, innovator and start-up visa applications
  • Applications for EU Nationals under the EU Settlement Scheme
  • Applications for Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK
  • Applications for British Citizenship - often involving the exercise of discretion
  • Asylum, extradition, humanitarian protection and human rights claims
  • Strategic immigration advice
  • US Immigration work

Duties and Responsibilities

The main duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the preparation and submission of a range of immigration applications.
  • Drafting supporting application documents, including application forms and supporting correspondence.
  • Reviewing and filing incoming application documents. Flagging issues where required.
  • Creating application bundles and maintaining register of outstanding documents.
  • Maintain original documents in accordance with the team's practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality in respect of those matters which are commercially sensitive or secret and only share them with colleagues and others on a need to know basis.
  • Assisting with file opening and closing, retainer letters and conflict checks in accordance with our compliance procedures.
  • Liaising with government bodies, including the Home Office and government agencies as required for case progression.
  • Researching and analysing developments in immigration policy and procedures.
  • Attending client meetings where required. Recording attendance notes and typing up detailed note for file.
  • Liaising with clients and colleagues in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Liaising with other departments as and when required.
  • Maintaining client contact details on CRM (Interaction) database.
  • Providing administrative support including photocopying, scanning, and organising documents for submission.
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly bills: Reviewing billing guides and highlighting non billable time and discrepancies in time. Reviewing and updating narratives and drafting billing emails/letters. Checking for monies on account to see whether bills have been paid.
  • Arranging meeting rooms and coordinating client calls.
  • To work calmly under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Being an integral part of a hardworking and collaborative team.

Skills/Experience

  • Previous immigration experience
  • A strong academic record, LPC qualified preferable.
  • Familiarity with immigration application processes and requirements.
  • Knowledge of current immigration law and policy, with a commitment to ongoing professional development in this area.
  • Dynamic and driven with an ability to work independently with initiative, discretion and confidentiality.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage own workload and prioritise deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Personable and confident, able to build relationships with partners/ key stakeholders.
  • Resilient and calm under pressure.
  • Adaptable and flexible approach.
  • Pro-active and takes initiative.
  • Proficiency in MS Packages including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer.
  • Experience with Document Management Systems is an advantage.
