In particular are keen to hear from candidates who are interested in working with regulators to achieve their compliance and enforcement objectives. The work will involve advising on regulatory investigations and representing regulators in civil penalty proceedings and administrative law matters. It will also involve strategic advice on complex policy and legal matters.

We are currently looking for an A ssociate, based in Sydney. Working closely with and Sonja Marsic you will have focus on regulatory investigations and civil regulatory litigation.

What we are looking for

  • 1+ years PQE gained within a regulatory agency (either in investigations and/or legal area) or with an external legal service provider.
  • Litigation experience, including in civil regulation
  • Administrative law experience would be highly desirable (though not essential).
  • Government experience would be highly desirable (though not essential).
  • Knowledge of legal issues in the context of civil regulatory investigations and enforcement.
  • Excellent analytical, written, drafting and communication skills
  • Attention to detail, commitment to quality and good work ethic
  • Focussed on strategic outcomes for clients
  • A respectful and collegiate attitude to colleagues and clients
  • Current and former associates in the Federal Court of Australia are encouraged to apply
  • Those with experience in Commonwealth criminal prosecutions for regulatory agencies are also encouraged to apply
