The role
We currently have an opportunity
for a Risk & Compliance Administrator to support our Compliance
team. The Firm's business acceptance work covers two primary areas:
Client Due Diligence (CDD) and conflicts management. CDD is the
process of collecting and analysing certain information about a
client or third party to assess the extent to which that client may
expose us to a range of risks, including financial crime risks.
This role will support the
Compliance Team in relation to administrative aspects of CDD related
activity. The role will also involve assisting other Compliance
Team members in relation to the performance of CDD, and undertaking
CDD checks to help will ensure that firm policies and the
regulations on CDD are adhered to within the firm. The role reports
to our Australian Compliance lead and ultimately to our Head of
Global New Business Risk. The successful candidate will:
Assist with the timely delivery
of administrative requirements of opening new clients in our
practice management system and undertaking CDD in relation to new
and existing clients. This would include commencing and
progressing workflows to progress CDD reviews, responding to
queries from within the firm, and entering data in relevant firm systems.
Ensure that information required
for new client and new matter opening is complete and accurate and
properly entered into the relevant practice management system.
Respond promptly and clearly to
queries from lawyers, partners and personal assistants regarding
new business acceptance.
Assist other Compliance Team
members in the performance of CDD in relation to new and existing clients.
Undertake CDD in accordance with
firm policy and applicable regulations. This will include research
using public sources and subscription databases, liaising with
lawyers and partners and the conduct of risk assessments.
As part of the Compliance Team,
assist in the daily management of CDD workflows and responsibilities.
Assist with ad hoc tasks as
directed by the Compliance team or General Counsel related to the
administration of compliance related responsibility.
Skills and Experience Required
Experience in a similar role
within a law firm, financial institution or professional services
organization is desirable
Reliable individual with ability
to use initiative, prioritise effectively, enthusiastic, team
player and ability to work under supervision
Strong attention to detail
Demonstrated research skills and
familiarity with online research tools
Respect for client confidentiality
Ability to critically evaluate a
number of different sources, identifying the key issues;
Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills
