Our banking and corporate team in
Ottawa is highly regarded for its significant experience in a broad
range of regional, national and international banking and finance
matters and corporate and other transactions across the full
spectrum of industries. We are well positioned to provide strategic,
business-oriented legal advice on a range of complex banking,
finance, and corporate matters and transactions, including project
and acquisition finance, secured lending, debt and equity capital
markets matters, mergers and acquisitions, private placements,
venture capital transactions, and general commercial and corporate
advisory matters.
We are currently seeking to add to
the existing strength of our team by adding a corporate &
banking law clerk to our cohort. Experience in conducting due
diligence searches, incorporation of new companies, dissolution of
companies, minute book reviews, performing extra-provincial
registrations, conducting business name registrations, annual
maintenance or minute book updating, drafting and filing of
documents for non-profit companies, and assisting with corporate
reorganizations and share purchase/sale transactions w ould be an
asset. This presents an incredible opportunity to join a world-class
group of professionals at an established Canadian law firm with an
international legal practice, while working in a collegial and
collaborative team that is both professionally and personally
rewarding.
The ideal candidate will possess a
Law Clerk Diploma and Law Clerk Certificate and will also have:
at least 4-6 years of related
experience in either a private practice, in-house, or
not-for-profit setting;
exceptional interpersonal and
communication skills, strong organizational abilities, attention
to detail, and a confidence to take initiative;
strong ability to work in a team
and handle competing demands;
demonstrated business acumen and a
strong commercial understanding; and
strong personal and professional
integrity and a hard-working and passionate approach.
While not required, bilingualism is
viewed as an asset.
