The role
We are looking for a Payroll Officer to join us on a full time
permanent basis, based in Sydney. This is a fantastic opportunity for
a payroll professional with a client service approach and excellent
attention to detail to add value in a close-knit Payroll team. Payroll
sits within our Finance function - a collaborative and cohesive team
that supports the firm nationally and is well-integrated globally.
In order to be successful in this role, you must have existing
payroll experience, a good eye for detail, excellent client service
skills and be eager to learn new things and work as part of a
close-knit team. As Payroll Officer you'll be responsible for running
the monthly and fortnightly payroll process in-house using the Aurion
Payroll system, liaising with other teams within the firm, as well as
the following:
Responsibilities
Management of end-to-end processing of the monthly and fortnightly payrolls.
Liaise with internal stakeholders in on-boarding new employees and
communicate relevant information to business services areas such as
IT and HR.
Manage queries coming into the Payroll mailbox, resolving and
responding to queries from employees, partners and other stakeholders.
Maintain pay records, leave records and payroll related information.
Assist with the maintenance of Award data to ensure wages payments
comply with various Awards (in particular the Legal Services Award)
and Agreements.
Process paid parental leave, worker's compensation claims and
complex termination payments.
Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies,
documenting and maintaining payroll processes and procedures.
Provide payroll information to management and others as required
in relation to termination payments, leave balances, overtime and
other entitlements.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years' experience within payroll in a complex environment.
Client service approach, working collaboratively to find solutions
and improve ways of working.
Attention to detail, always striving for accuracy.
Knowledge of relevant payroll software. While prior experience
with the Aurion Payroll system is preferred, it is not mandatory as
training will be provided.
Ability to manage multiple tasks within a complex and fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated professional and ethical approach in maintaining high
levels of confidentiality.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including V-lookups and
Pivot tables.
