Specialist - Maintenance Fees

Norton Rose Fulbright Canada is seeking a Specialist, Maintenance Fees. The position consists mainly of preparing and paying patent maintenance fees at the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO), and doing data entry in our database.

You will be focusing on:

  • Verify deadlines daily and ensure they are met;
  • Prepare reminders to clients and seek their payment instructions;
  • Prepare the necessary documents to be filed at the Patent Office;
  • Enter and satisfy deadlines in our database;
  • Follow-up with clients;
  • Verify patent office websites globally and retrieve relevant information;
  • Participate in projects related to paying and invoicing maintenance fees.

What you bring to the role:

  • College diploma or equivalent diploma in secretarial studies or other relevant field;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet short deadlines;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Availability for occasional work outside regular business hours;
  • Client service mentality;
  • Bilingualism is an asset;
  • Knowledge of the patent process is an asset.
