The Australian team are at the forefront of the global energy transition, acting for a range of global and national clients with a key focus in the development of infrastructure and energy projects.

This role at the frontier of the energy transition has created an opportunity for an associate or senior associate-level lawyer to work alongside Partner Kate Muller and our national Energy Transactions team. As an integral member of our team, you should expect to work on various projects across the energy, infrastructure and government sectors across a range of local, regional and cross border projects.This is an exciting time to join a growing practice that promises career advancement and significant development opportunities. The key responsibilities and requirements for this role are as follows:

Responsibilities

  • Working on a number of energy projects for project sponsors, financiers and large energy users nationally.
  • Advising on and draft a range of project documentation including power purchase agreements, connection agreements, services and development agreements, delivery and joint venture agreements.
  • Coordinating due diligence for greenfield and brownfield projects, financing and acquisitions.
  • Manage work streams on large domestic and international projects.
  • Liaise with clients on consents, amendments and project delivery issues as they arise.
  • Assist with business development and marketing initiatives.
  • Delegation and supervision of work and junior team members.

Requirements

  • 4-8 years PQE gained within an energy / projects practice. Project finance experience well regarded.
  • Possess a growth mindset and are commercial, solution focussed, creative and passionate about delivering the energy transition.
  • Experience assisting on a range of matters across the infrastructure, energy and government sector.
  • Strong client liaison skills.
  • Excellent analytical, drafting and communication skills.
  • Strong time management & organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities simultaneously.
