Our Environment & Planning practice group is recognised as one of the leading teams in Australia. Demand on our services has created an opportunity for a Senior Associate to join the Melbourne team.

The Norton Rose Fulbright Environment & Planning team acts for major corporate clients, developers, infrastructure providers, industry and government. You will be engaged in a mix of litigation, advice and transaction work on Environment & Planning issues. These include all aspects of Planning litigation in VCAT, Planning Panels Victoria and the Supreme Court, across all industry sectors and concerning projects located throughout Victoria. To be considered for this role you must have;


  • A minimum of 5 years PQE ideally gained within a reputable Environment & Planning practice with a strong focus on planning
  • Experience and expertise with planning litigation, advice and project management
  • Experience with land acquisition and compensation processes and disputed claims
  • Advocacy experience and expertise desirable , but not essential
  • Strong time management & organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong drafting skills
  • Strong academic achievements
  • Experience supervising and leading teams, and mentoring lawyers
