Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join Norton Rose Fulbright's leading Banking and Finance group in Melbourne. Working as part of a fast growing, collaborative and supportive team, you'll gain exposure to a diverse mix of high quality banking and finance matters in Australia and internationally, presenting an excellent career development opportunity.

Norton Rose Fulbright's Banking and Finance group includes some of the leading banking and finance lawyers in Australia. Clients include the major Australian and international banks, top tier corporates, entrepreneurs, investment banks, fund managers, private capital providers and professional trustees. Some examples of the work the team have been involved in recently include:

  • Advising AirTrunk, a hyperscale data centre operator, on all of its debt financings for the expansion of its data centre business in Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan, including on a $2.1 billion sustainability linked loan facility that leads the market globally for sustainability financings in the data centre industry.
  • Advising ESR, an international property fund manager, on its acquisition of Blackstone's Milestone logistics portfolio (the largest real estate investment globally this year) and the associated $2.2 billion debt financing.
  • Advising the Australian Office of Financial Management (AOFM) in relation to its investment in lender warehouse facilities as part of its $15billion investment program via the Structured Finance Support Fund.

Broadly you will gain exposure to:

  • Corporate and acquisition finance
  • Real estate investment and development finance
  • Securitisation
  • Project and infrastructure financing
  • Private debt and special situations
  • Fund financing
  • Specialised finance such as receivables, trade, supply chain and asset based lending

We are looking for:

  • Demonstrated experience working on banking and finance transactions gained at a reputable national or international law firm, or in-house at a leading financial institution
  • Excellent written, drafting and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail, commitment to quality and good work ethic
  • A respectful and collegiate attitude to colleagues and client
  • 5+ years post qualification experience
