The Role
We are currently recruiting a mid-level or Senior Associate based in
London with the capability to run a range of contentious matters for
banking and finance clients. Examples of the type of work that the
team handles include: derivatives close-out disputes; problems of
interpretation of complex banking documentation; corporate trustee,
corporate service provider and agency disputes; civil fraud disputes
including deceit, bribery and conspiracy claims, asset tracing and
asset recovery; allegations of professional negligence arising out of
capital markets transactions; Islamic finance/structured finance
defaults; commodity and trade finance disputes; contentious insolvency matters.
We are seeking the highest calibre candidates who wish to further
their careers in a progressive, innovative and highly commercial practice.

The Norton Rose Fulbright Global Dispute Resolution Group is one of
the first choice practices for the complex, high-value international
work of global corporations and financial institutions. With
experience in managing multi-jurisdictional litigation and
international arbitration matters across all industry sectors, our
lawyers prevent and resolve disputes by giving practical, creative
advice that focuses on our clients' strategic objectives. We have
particular strength in financial institutions; energy; infrastructure,
mining and commodities; transport; technology and innovation; and life
sciences and healthcare.
Skills and Experience Required
Strong academic background
Ambitious banking and finance litigator with at least 5 years PQE
acting for financial institutions in complex, cross border disputes.
The ideal candidate would be familiar with at least some of the
areas of work listed above and willing to develop their technical
knowledge of the other areas.
The ability to run cases with the appropriate level of supervision
for a Senior Associate
Strong communication skills
Good project management and delegation skills
Commercial awareness and the ability to build excellent
relationships with clients
Very strong analytical and drafting skills
Excellent team player
