The Function
Global IT are responsible for the design,
build and operation of central IT services that are used across
multiple regions within Norton Rose Fulbright (NRF). The function
works closely with Global CTO and CISO and regional IT to develop
and manage central service portfolio and common standards, policies,
tools and practices.
The Role
The Modern Workplace Engineer will bring specialist experience in the
Microsoft 365 environment by contributing to roadmap development,
design, security and compliance.
This role will play a key part in both the build and operational
management of Microsoft 365 cloud services working within a matrix
managed, multi-sourced organization spanning multiple geographies.
Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the CTO, and technical
leads to contribute to the development of modern workplace
roadmaps, reference architectures, and design documents
- Work with the architecture, project, and service delivery teams to
build environments, services, and implement associated configuration changes
- As part of evergreen management process, review Microsoft roadmaps
and changes, plan/implement any changes required within the estate

Maintain and support a Modern Workplace
environment improving end user experience

Manage, maintain and optimize core MS
business services according to agreed SLAs and business needs,
including Exchange Online, Teams, Intune and Azure AD
- Monitor and manage the operational health of the M365 environment
through the use of management consoles, tools and audit reports
- Build, manage and maintain test tenants and test environments
- Provide L3 support, troubleshoot issues, manage escalations, and
share technical issue resolution, knowledge and best practice with
wider team and regional peers

The successful candidate for this role
will have the following experience and expertise:
- Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively convey
complex ideas tailored appropriately to the audience (from senior
executives to technical experts)
- Strong customer-focus, used to providing support to demanding users

Demonstrable experience in designing and
implementing the MS solution stack

Experience in transformation of legacy
EUC services to modern workplace supporting the changing needs of
a digital business with a mobile workforce

Good technical leadership,
collaboration, and matrix-management skills to operate effectively
in a global organisation

Proven experience of working in a
fast-paced environment managing multiple initiatives in parallel
- Strong organizational skills, able to manage workload, priorities
and meet agreed timescales
- Beneficial Microsoft Qualifications include: Microsoft 365
Identity and Services; Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert

Minimum
of 5 years' experience as a senior
modern workplace engineer

Formal Education: Bachelor's Degree in
MIS, CS, business or related studies helpful, but experience will
carry the most weight
Technical Experience

Windows 10 Lifecycle Management
including Autopilot

Modern Endpoint Management (MS InTune
MDM & MAM, SCCM)
-
Identity and Access Management
(including AAD, AAD Connect, SSO, MFA, Conditional Access, ADFS)
- Good knowledge of M365 Security technologies (Azure Information
Protection, DLP, M365 Security Center, M365 Compliance Centre)
- Solid understanding of creating and configuring retention policies
and legal hold in M365
- PowerShell Scripting and automation across M365 services
- Management of multi-geo MS tenants and understanding of data
residency requirements
- Management and simplification of complex multi-domain AD environments
- Management of Exchange Online
- Any experience in the management of Teams, or Mimecast, would be
an advantage
