We have a fantastic opportunity
for a Senior Paralegal to join our Real Estate department and
support our sector teams in delivering residential Real Estate work.
This is a permanent, full-time
role based in our Bristol office.
The practice
Our real estate team has a strong
reputation for providing commercial advice to clients on everything
from investment acquisitions and disposals and portfolio and asset
management, forward funding and forward commitments, to complex
mixed-use developments. Our team advises across all our clients'
entire investment patterns including BTR, student accommodation,
logistics and energy.
We are distinguished from our
competitors by our market leading practices in a number of prominent
specialist areas. These include student accommodation and build to
rent where we are recognised national leaders, energy - in
particular major renewables projects run by leading names in the
sector such as Foresight and Oxford Capital Partners; student
housing, where we have advised on significant deals for Global
Student Accommodation Limited and Campus Living Villages; and
retail, where our recent track record includes appointment to the
prestigious Homebase/Bunnings panel and on-going work for Marks and
Spencer. In addition, we are rapidly establishing a reputation as a
leader in acting for UK and overseas institutions, as major
investors in UK real estate.
The team
The real estate is made up of 75
lawyers in total including 22 Partners in the UK. The Residential
Development practice is a key part of the Real Estate team and has 8
Partners and a large team specialising in this area including our
dedicated site set-up and plots administration and conveyancing teams.
The Role
You will provide a wide range of
services to the Residential Development practice including but not exclusively:
Acting for a broad spectrum of
house-builder clients in respect of all matters ancillary to large
scale residential developments, with a focus on affordable housing disposals.
Dealing with asset management
issues connected with large scale residential development schemes
including leases, licences, transfers and Deeds of Variations and
the drafting and negotiation of these documents.
Dealing with Deeds of Easements,
Wayleaves, Infrastructure Agreements (e.g. Section 38 and Section
104 agreements), Substation Transfers, Transfers of land, Deeds of
Covenant and various other matters for our house-builder clients
including the drafting and negotiation of the same.
Assisting with site set up
matters connected with large scale residential developments.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Have evidence of experience
across a range of Real Estate matters in a similar role
(preferably with a focus on residential development);
Demonstrate good oral and
written communication skills;
Be technically minded, enjoy
variety, have the ability to prioritise and successfully manage
multiple matters.
Show an enthusiasm for and the
ability to present technical legal issues in a clear, approachable
and professional way;
Demonstrate a client-orientated
approach, both internally and externally; the ability to think
laterally and to develop ideas in relation to business
opportunities and training;
