Due to continued growth we have an exciting new opportunity for
lawyers to join our well regarded and successful Commercial Disputes
team at Associate level in our Thames Valley (Reading) office.
The practice
Osborne Clarke's litigation practice provides a full range of
commercial dispute and specialist risk management services, both
nationally and internationally.
Led by two partners with a City background, our Thames Valley-based
team handles strategically important, highly complex, cross-border
disputes and investigations for an extensive client base consisting of
major international companies, as well as fast growth PE and VC backed
businesses. The team also continue to carry out work for high quality
regional, City and international clients, and is recognised as a
"go to" choice for difficult issues requiring both
top-ranked legal expertise and commercial and strategic judgment.
The team has a particularly strong reputation for disputes in the
technology and life sciences sectors, Private Equity / Venture Capital
and other corporate finance issues, corporate disputes (including
post-transaction and shareholder and boardroom governance disputes),
commercial fraud, investigations and work in the anti-bribery and
corruption sphere.
Market-leading companies trust the team with their commercial
litigation needs. Examples include Oracle Corporation, Facebook,
Vodafone, Epicor, TiVo Corporation, Hyundai, Wireless Logic, ASOS,
Tripadvisor, Content Guru, Redwood Technologies, Daler-Rowney,
Intersurgical, Davies Group, HTC and LDC, PrisymID, ARI Fleet UK,
Barloworld, and Intuit to name but a few. The team continues to win
new clients, both leading multinational companies and fast growth SMEs.
The team in Thames Valley is fully integrated into a fast-growing
national and international network which includes a rapidly-expanding
London office. The team has particular expertise in confidential
international arbitration and cross-border disputes, and at any one
time is acting on a number of matters involving various jurisdictions
around the world.

Headed by highly- respected corporate litigator Peter Sheppard, and
bolstered at partner level more recently by the lateral hire of
corporate disputes and investigations specialist Jane Park-Weir,
Osborne Clarke's Thames Valley team handles strategically important,
highly complex, cross-border and national disputes. Members of the
team frequently work on a cross-office basis with other team members
in Bristol and London, as well as with teams across Osborne Clarke's
international network.
The department is growing, increasing the breadth and depth of its
expertise and resource, as part of the overall strategic growth of
Osborne Clarke's Thames Valley office and the firm as a whole.
Technical skills and experience
We are looking for evidence of broad knowledge and experience in this
area and for potential to excel.
Due to the nature of the work and practice we are looking to appoint
an Associate, however we are happy to consider applicants with more or
less experience. We are happy to consider NQ-level solicitors.
