We have a new opportunity for a Billing Controller to join our Finance team on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Revenue Control Manager you will undertake all aspects of revenue control Billing for all practice groups in accordance with established operational processes and policies.

This role will be based in our brand new offices in Bristol on a hybrid working pattern.

Key Responsibilities

The Billing Controller will deal with billing aspects such as, rate maintenance, bill production and bill cancellations for all practice groups. As well as resolving queries across all OCI offices and processing some disbursements, producing draft and copy bills.

  • Deal with and resolve client queries and find solutions for billing problems
  • Possible assistance with e-billing queries and solutions
  • Develop and document billing procedures.
  • Deal with International queries
  • Assist with the maintenance of rates
  • Follow up unbilled WIP and disbursements with Fee Earners
  • Maintain accurate information held within Elite.

You will share responsibility for the following (non-exhaustive) list of tasks for your all practice groups:

  • Producing bills
  • Processing credit notes, bill cancellations & write-offs
  • Answering customer queries

What we're looking for

You will have experience working within a Revenue Control team. Experience within a legal or professional services background would be beneficial but not a prerequisite. You will need to be self-motivated and demonstrate the ability to follow policy an procedures.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across all aspects of the Revenue Control team's and ensure that issues are addressed promptly, professionally, openly and constructively.
  • Ability to communicate and interact appropriately and constructively with customers and colleagues
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and to identify and act on issues which need to be escalated.
  • Ability to assist with the design and implementation of policies and processes.
  • Good organisational abilities.
  • Good time management and prioritisation skills.
  • IT Literate
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst paying attention to detail.
