Description
Due to growth across the business, we
have an exciting newly created Senior Bids Manager role in our
Business Development & Marketing team. As a Senior Bids Manager
you will manage and lead the centralised bids function, which
provides expert support on both anticipated and reactive pitch
opportunities.
This is a permanent role that can be
based out of either our Bristol or London office that supports
hybrid working.
The Team
BD, Marketing & Sales is a
welcoming and dynamic team of experts, supporting lawyers, sectors
and service lines across our international business. We are now
looking to expand our capacity for supporting and advising our
lawyers on international bids.
What You'll Do
Reporting to the Director of Business
Development, you will be responsible for leading and line managing
the Bids team, which currently comprises of two Bid Managers and one
Bids Executive. You will be delivering high quality bid responses
across the entire bids lifecycle, from making decisions on go ahead,
project managing the process and capturing learnings.
Other key responsibilities include:
Applying an expert eye to the
creation and editing of content as well as ensuring successful
submission of high quality, visually appealing RfP responses
Setting the Bids team objectives
that feed down from your team level objectives, holding effective
1:1s with them and holding them team to account for delivery,
whilst fostering a collaborative and engaging environment where
the team feel supported and invested
Working closely with the BD team to
ensure bids are tailored to particular industry sectors
Looking at systems and processes
that will continually drive efficiencies and improve the quality
of our bid responses
Working with the Head of Pursuits
to coach the bid team
Tracking and reporting on bids
win/loss data
Linking in with active pursuits to
ensure the right resource is assigned to support pursuits that
become live pitch opportunities
Bringing together best practice and
lessons learnt from other bids across the Firm
What we're looking for
This role will suit an experienced
Senior Bids Manager, or Bids Manager looking for a step up in their
career.
As well as having an interest in
Bids, Business Development and Copywriting, the successful candidate
will have:
Proven project management/bid
management skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure and
to tight deadlines
Ability to build relationships
quickly with people across the business - often in a time
pressured situation
Ability to question and challenge
senior stakeholders and influence them on the bid approach
Willingness to be involved in hands
on tasks and project manage bid processes, including writing and
editing content
A "can do" and positive attitude
Strong delivery experience within
law firms or professional services
Passionate about people development
and working as a collaborative team
Evidence of consistent senior
management & leadership stakeholder management
Curiosity, creativity and a desire
to constantly improves processes
Active and supportive team member
that looks to contribute to a healthy team dynamic
